iQoo Neo 9 Series Set to Launch in December: Design Teased and Key Features Revealed

iQoo has officially announced the impending arrival of its new flagship series, the iQoo Neo 9, scheduled to debut in China this December. The Neo 9 series is primed to succeed the previously unveiled iQoo Neo 8 lineup, which made its debut in May of the current year. This series comprised the base iQoo Neo 8 and the iQoo Neo 8 Pro. Initially rumored for a Q1 2024 launch, iQoo’s confirmation now places the Neo 9 series launch firmly in the closing month of this year.

A teaser shared on Weibo by iQoo gives us a glimpse of what to expect from the upcoming series. The preview showcases a captivating red and white dual-tone design of one of the iQoo Neo 9 models. Notable elements revealed in the teaser include an IR blaster on the top edge, alongside the volume rockers and power button positioned on the left edge.(iQoo Neo 9 Series)

The teased iQoo Neo 9 model features a dual rear camera setup housed within two distinct rectangular cutouts. Positioned vertically on the top left corner of the back panel, these sensors offer a unique aesthetic. Below the camera units, the phone’s model name is clearly displayed, while the brand logo adorns the bottom left corner.

Simultaneously, reports surfaced about the iQoo Neo 9 Pro, reportedly identified by the model number V2339A, appearing on China’s 3C certification site. This listing suggests support for up to 120W wired charging, aligning with its predecessor’s capabilities. Further details indicate charger models V12060L0A0-CN and V12060L1A0-CN, capable of delivering outputs ranging from 15W to a rapid 120W. These chargers also support varying output levels through USB Power Delivery and up to 100W charging via the PPS protocol.

Previous leaks hinted at the base iQoo Neo 9 featuring a substantial 6.78-inch display. Additional rumors suggested that one of the Neo 9 models might incorporate a noteworthy 1.49-inch Sony IMX920 50-megapixel primary rear camera sensor. Expected specifications include a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC for the base model, accompanied by up to 16GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. Conversely, the iQoo Neo 9 Pro might house a MediaTek Dimensity 9300 chipset, coupled with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of onboard storage. These models are anticipated to ship with Android 14-based FunTouchOS 14 or OriginOS 4, varying by region.

The iQoo Neo 8 series, equipped with an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC for the standard variant and a MediaTek Dimensity 9200+ chipset for the Pro model, boasted 6.78-inch 1.5K AMOLED displays and 120W fast-charging supported by 5,000mAh batteries.

Camera-wise, both Neo 8 models sported a 16-megapixel front camera sensor. The base model featured a 50-megapixel primary rear sensor alongside a 2-megapixel secondary sensor. The iQoo Neo 8 series came in Night Rock, Match Point, and Surf color options, priced at CNY 2,499 (approximately Rs. 29,300) for the 12GB + 256GB variant of the base model, while the iQoo Neo 8 Pro began at CNY 3,299 (approximately Rs. 38,700) for its 16GB + 256GB variant during launch.
