Starting with North America, the January patch will gradually roll out to other regions in the coming days. To identify this update on your Galaxy S22, watch for these specific One UI build versions: S901EXXS7DWL8 for Galaxy S22, S906EXXS7DWL8 for Galaxy S22 Plus, and S908EXXS7DWL8 for Galaxy S22 Ultra.

What makes the January 2024 update stand out? The main highlight is the patch itself, addressing more than 75 vulnerabilities in the Android OS. These consist of one critical, 68 high-risk, and multiple moderate-risk vulnerabilities. Samsung is ensuring comprehensive security measures.

Over 80 specific fixes are being rolled out for the latest Samsung 5G models. Notably, there’s an addressed vulnerability related to multi-user settings on tablets, where one profile could access notifications from other users. The My Files app is also receiving a security enhancement, closing potential loopholes that could permit attackers to create files or pair Bluetooth devices without user consent.

While waiting for the update in Pakistan, users can manually check for it by navigating to the “Software Update” section in their device settings. Keep in mind that the rollout is gradual, so it may take some time to reach all Galaxy S22 smartphones.

Once you receive the update notification, it’s advisable to promptly install it to benefit from improved security and additional functional enhancements. Furthermore, Samsung is extending the January 2024 security patch to various other Galaxy devices, such as the Galaxy Z Flip, Z Fold series, and more.
