Samsung is gearing up for its upcoming Unpacked event on July 10, where the focus will be on unveiling the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6. Alongside these foldable devices, Samsung is expected to introduce the Galaxy S24 FE, a mid-range smartphone that is generating excitement for potentially surpassing the flagship Galaxy S24 in several key aspects.

Leaks from reliable tipster @OreXda suggest that the Galaxy S24 FE is currently in development and is rumored to feature both Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and Exynos 2400 chipsets. This marks a departure from the approach taken with the Galaxy S23 FE, which featured a less powerful chipset than its S23 counterpart.

Preliminary specifications indicate that the S24 FE will sport a 6.1-inch AMOLED display and a 4,500mAh battery, a significant improvement over the S24’s 4,000mAh unit. This upgrade could position the S24 FE as a standout smartphone for 2024.

Furthermore, Samsung’s Budget 5G new model is expected to come with 12GB of RAM and storage options of 128GB and 256GB. While sharing many similarities with the S24, the FE model is anticipated to be offered as a more affordable alternative, possibly featuring lower-tier cameras and reduced durability.

Samsung typically trims down the specifications on its FE devices to maintain a $200 price gap between the different categories. The decision not to skip the FE model for the S24 generation demonstrates Samsung’s commitment to offering high-quality options across various price points.

If Samsung follows its previous release schedule, the Galaxy S24 FE could be launched in October, aiming to capitalize on the success of the S24 series with a more budget-friendly variant.
