Samsung’s upcoming mid-range gem, the Galaxy A55, has made headlines with a recent benchmark sighting, unveiling crucial specifications. Positioned to succeed the Galaxy A54, the A55 shines with its centerpiece feature: the new Exynos chipset, marking Samsung’s venture into the market with an AMD GPU.
At the core of the Galaxy A55 lies the Exynos 1480 SoC, introducing Samsung’s collaboration with an AMD GPU. The Xclipse 530 GPU, based on AMD RDNA2 graphics architecture akin to last year’s Exynos 2200, promises a notable leap in graphics performance, though it may not match the cutting-edge GPU anticipated for the Galaxy S24’s Exynos 2400.
Benchmark scores for the Exynos 1480 hint at incremental gains in CPU performance, with potential further optimizations in graphics as development progresses. The device’s listing also confirms an 8GB RAM configuration, catering to diverse user needs. Variants with 4GB or 6GB of RAM might also be in the pipeline.
Expected to launch with Android 14 and One UI 6.1 out of the box, Samsung’s new 5G mobile is anticipated to incorporate AI features from the Galaxy S24 series, catering to enhanced user experiences.
While Samsung hasn’t revealed a precise launch date, industry speculations point towards a potential debut for the Galaxy A55 in March. This aligns with the release pattern of its predecessor, the A54, earlier in the year, and conveniently falls after the planned launch of the S24 series in the first two months of 2024.
