Samsung affirms its commitment to device security by rolling out the latest update for Galaxy A73 devices. Despite the recent launch of the Galaxy S24, the Galaxy A73 is promptly receiving the January 2024 security patch in Europe.

The firmware, identified as version A736BXXS6DXA1, is currently being deployed in Turkey and is expected to reach other European regions in the coming days. The update, weighing under 500MB, addresses more than 75 security vulnerabilities identified in the previous software, providing Galaxy A73 owners with a significant enhancement in device security.

Users in regions outside of Europe can anticipate the update’s arrival on their devices shortly. To check for the update, users can navigate to the device’s Settings → Software update and tap Check for Updates. Once available, the Download and Install button will appear, initiating a reboot to a fresh software version with improved security for the Samsung budget 5G model.

Introduced by Samsung in early 2022, the Galaxy A73 initially shipped with Android 12. In line with Samsung’s commitment to updates, the device has already received Android 13 and 14, corresponding to OneUI 5 and OneUI 6. Looking ahead, users can expect support for Android 15.

In terms of specifications, the Samsung Galaxy A73 5G features a 6.7-inch Infinity display with a 120Hz refresh rate, Full HD+ resolution, and an in-display fingerprint scanner for added security. The flagship lens configuration for photography includes 108MP, 12MP, and 5MP sensors. With a 5000mAh battery and a Snapdragon 778G Chip, the Galaxy A73 delivers seamless performance even under stress.
