The new vivoX Fold3 series will feature a redesigned look and a Pro version.

VIVO X Fold

vivo is anticipated to launch two book-style foldable smartphones by the end of Q1 2024. As per Digital Chat Station, these will be the X Fold3 and the X Fold3 Pro, both certified by Chinese authorities.

The leak suggests significant upgrades over the X Fold2, including enhanced screen resolution, larger battery capacity, 50 MP sensors for all cameras, and a lighter build.

Introducing a more powerful variant is a common strategy in the smartphone market but less so in foldables. The X Fold3 Pro is said to feature a periscope lens for the telephoto camera, 50W wireless charging, and an under-display fingerprint scanner – features seen in previous models.

While the X Fold3 may offer some features at a lower price, the X Fold3 Pro appears to be the true successor to the X Fold2.

While offering different options benefits consumers, availability outside of China could impact its significance.
